I have been coming to Liz for over 20 years, ever since I was a child. I would not go anywhere else. The staff is always friendly and while the pricing for a mans cut might be a little high, it's always worth it here. You may want to make any appointment. They do accept walk ins and that I usually what I do but they also are fairly busy and you may have to come back another time if you walk in.
Extremely poor service and communication.
Years ago I used to have my hair cut regularly here by Dat, who always did a fantastic job. He listened attentively and communicated thoroughly to ensure I'd receive the cut I hoped for.
Since recently moving back to Olympia, I learned Dat had moved away and sadly was no longer working there, so I scheduled an appointment with whoever had availability and was assigned to Kimmy.
When I arrived she sat me down and asked what I wanted. I asked for long layers with blunt ends and specifically said no point cutting or using a razor. She then started to heat up a flat iron, which I was confused by because I assumed my hair would be washed first, as Dat had always done. She started straightening my hair, and I asked her to stop because I avoid heat styling to protect it and asked if she could wet it instead. She agreed and sprayed it with a water bottle to where it was only partially damp before proceeding to cut it.
Because my hair wasn't completely wet and because I have naturally slightly wavy hair, it resulted in an inconsistent cut that was clearly given with minimal effort.
She then pulled out a razor and was about to use it before I reminded her not to. Then she pulled out a mirror to show me the back because apparently she had finished. She didn't even offer to blow dry it until I asked.
Bottom line is she failed to communicate what she was doing or check to confirm what I wanted and tried to provide as little service as possible by not offering to wash or dry my hair let alone style it whatsoever. She also did not cut "long" layers as I had asked whereas Dat always confirmed the length with me before cutting. He also always washed it first and blow dried it after, which is pretty standard anyway at most salons.
Massively disappointing experience, and I'll never be returning.
My wife has went there for her last few haircuts. She is always impressed with the quality of her hair cut and color. She is even more blown away by the affordability. If you're the husband and drive your wife there......DONT SIT AND WAIT!!!! I made the mistake the first time and waited for 3.5 hours!!!!! She highly recommends Liz or Dat
Very friendly service. The stylist did a great job on my hair. I am very picky about who touches my hair and as a result it's been probably two years since I have had a trim; she was very detail oriented and made sure every detail was perfect. Will be going back.
Very frustrating experience! Everything I asked for with my hair was the exact opposite I got!!! I asked for a couple inches and to leave length she cut off 5inches, wanted my bangs at my eyes they are a 1/4 inch above my brows.
I had Liz as my hair dresser and she did an amazing job!! Very very happy with my hair cut. It was also very reasonable priced especially since my hair is very thick and tangled up at times. She took her time and made it look perfect. Will definitely continue getting my hair cut by her in the future.
I called Liz's for a haircut for both me and my husband and they were able to schedule us the next day. The salon is very clean and welcoming and Liz gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had! She listened to everything I said and I left with some amazing looking hair. My husbands turned out great, too! Support local businesses and book with Liz and her staff!
Gone here for years. Moved away for a few years, now I've moved back, and now I'm going again. Hopefully for more years. They do a really good job, the place is super well kept, and I've never had a bad cut.
